The Lewis Sports Academy runs the Foundation's Lifeskills curriculum to target all student athletes.
Lifeskills topics presented in the curriculum are: 1) reflection and goal setting, 2) identity development, 3) imagery and visualization, 4) aspects of athletic potential, 5) issues of conflict resolution, nutrition, and 6) college academic eligibility standards.
Specific content of the program includes, but is not limited to, positive emotional development, communication, interpersonal and coping skills, responsible decision-making, nutrition management, substance abuse and misuse, character development, mental performance skills, physical skills, sports skills, and academic practice.
A sports theme pervades the curriculum. Activities include workshops, lecture, interactive exercises, quizzes, field trips, sports practice, physical training, and video.
